Discrimination in the housing industry can be blatantly obvious and deliberate or subtle and genuinely unintentional. Regardless of the intent, judgments are handed down every day against discriminatory housing practices. Breaching fair housing laws can result in costly fines, suspended licenses, and even revoked licenses. You can protect yourself from liability and help eliminate discrimination in the housing industry by becoming educated on the laws that regulate discrimination and by making an informed choice to work within the boundaries set by these laws.
